The Long Way Down

         This short was a proof of concept for an unreleased crime thriller inspired by 1970s mafia films for which I was the Writer and Director in the Fall of 2022. Seth Tracthman and Shawn Heyworth Acted as both Leads, with our Teacher Quinn Winchell on Camera and Tanner Simpson as the Audio Technician.

Maestros

 A 10-year-long passion Project for Director and Creator Danny Chimal. This film blends Romance, music, and action in an action-packed coming-of-age story about Musician superheroes. During Production, I had the Honor of being the Film's Co-director and the Director of Photography, with a small VO performance in the film. The film won Best Sound Design and Best Editing during the DFG Smash Student showcase and made a local premiere in Reno alongside other independent filmmakers in the summer of 2024.

The Tunnels Beneath

         Created by Cat McCarthy and Starring Tanner Simpson in the Digital Filmmakers Guild this was a passion project about a killer Sorority that has a bloody initiation. I acted as the First Assitant Camera Operator during the production. The Film was awarded Best Picture at the DFG student film showcase in 2024.  

Deconstructing Larry

          The was a 48-hour film for the Reno chapter of the 48-hour film Project. I was the Producer and Lead Editor for the project where I partnered With Tanner Simpson, Scout Hernandez, Anna Breckenridge, Seth Tracthman, and Danny Chimal to frantically create "Deconstructing Larry" over the course of two days. Although we were pressed for time the film I believe came out very well due to the dedication and craft of the people who made it. 

Papertape

         Written by Danny Chimal this was an action film that was created in collaboration with the Digital Film Makers Guild at Chico State. During Production, I was the First AC and operated the wireless follow-focus unit during the fight scenes. I also Had Voice Acting Roles as head boss JackO' Lantern and his assistant. 

Echos of the Abyss

         This short was a fun outing between me and Scout Hernandez where we made an impromptu short film about a lost hiker with no written dialogue but the outline for a script. We spent a whole day running around the abandoned railway tunnels in Truckee to create this I acted as Cinematographer/Editor for the project and ended up creating the movie's special effects using a homemade ASCII generator. 

Two Lines 

             This short was my Capstone project for Spring of 2023 at Chico State where I acted as Director of Photography and Assistant Editor for our Writer Director Scout Hernandez. 

Anti-Intimacy

          A short film written and directed by Tanner Simpson during the spring of 2023 was one of my final projects completed at Chico State. I acted as a Cinematographer during production, and it premiered at the Digital Filmmakers Gild smash awards to a glowing reception.    

Formaldehyde Darling

         Scout Hernandez wrote this as an adaptation of a screenplay called "My Fault" which is a dramatic short about loss and grief after the suicide of a close friend. I edited the final video a couple of months after the end of the directing class it was created. 

Escapism

         The Club project for Spring 2023, this short film combined all of the club's efforts with many people working day and night to polish it for the smash awards. Written by John Chui & Directed by Seth Tracthmen, The production lasted many weeks, during which I acted as the Main antagonist and took a tech role as Lighting Technician.     

Medium Pepperoni

The first project from the revitalized Digital Film Makers Guild. The short film was the brainchild of Shawn Heyworth, the Director/Editor. My role during production was Director of Photography, where I Operated a Camera and directed grips for lighting. 

Bangers and Mash

This was the first part of a two-part college murder comedy created by Abby Megbar & Aydan Perez. After two months of on-again-off-again shooting, the production included many Chico state students and recently graduated chico Alumni in the spring of 2022, where I assisted as a Camera operator and Producer for the project.

Psychedelic Sawtooth (Cartoon Verison)

A psychedelic music video was created in the spring of 2022. The project took over a month and gave me ample practice in Acting & editing with help from the entire class. Originally heavy postprocessing was attempted and failed due to hardware limitations; however, months after initial completion, visual effects were added to the final version. 

Between the Lines

A short film created in the Spring of 2022 by Nadia Dizard and a group of fellow students. I acted as the Antagonist to our main lead John Chu. The short film was shot on an entire weekend in Bidwell Park and went on to win the Flint Michigan film fest.  

Jr. Hiest On 4th Street

Originally a short film for Class Final Project for MADT 262. Short was written and directed by Tanner Simpson, with me acting as cinematographer. I also coordinated the Lighting team for interior shots during production.

VR Commerical

This commercial was the first project I ever shot at Chico State; my role during productions was Camera Operator and Editor, which showcased many of the VFX Skills I learned in Quarantine. The fake Commerical was shot in the Fall of 2021 and was my introduction to the Chico State media arts department. 

Dead Lurker

This trailer was for MADT 141, a major project in the fall of 2022. I acted as Writer, Director, and Cinematographer for the project, and it was the first big project I had gotten a chance to direct during my time at Chico State.

I Want A Daddy For Christmas

Words cannot describe a short film made by Doc Watson. This short proved to be my first high-quality work. Written and Directed by Doc Watson, I acted as Cinematographer and Editor during the film with production lasting an entire week straight and receiving a standing ovation from students.  

Within the Halls

A horror film was created on a whim in the Fall of 2019. The short was shot while moving house from a hotel in San Luis Obispo over a long weekend.  I Co-directed, acted as Cinematographer, and acted as Editor for this project which took about two months to complete. 

Not Done Yet

This documentary was the first serious attempt at filmmaking I ever embarked on, with me acting as cinematographer for our director and producer, Maryann Talino. This short documentary took two months to organize and shoot and ended up winning first place at the SLO Film fest in 2019.
